These are the terms for using Preflight. Plain language on purpose — if a line here is unclear, ask before you agree: hello@preflight.app.
A pre-trade checklist and a journal for recording your own trades in R-multiples. That is the whole service. It is a notebook that does arithmetic.
Preflight does not give financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Nothing in the app — no checklist question, no statistic, no "profitable" or "unprofitable" verdict on one of your setups — is a recommendation to take, avoid, hold or exit any position. Those verdicts describe what your own recorded trades did in the past. Past results do not predict future ones.
Trading involves risk and you can lose more than you put in. Every decision you make is yours. We are not your broker, we never connect to your broker, and we cannot place, see or affect a single trade.
You keep every right to what you write. We claim no ownership of your trades, notes or screenshots. We do not sell them, publish them, show them to other users, or use them to train anything. We access an account's contents only when you ask us to — to fix something you have reported — or where the law leaves us no choice.
Do not resell or redistribute the service, attack it, try to reach another account, scrape it, or upload anything unlawful. We can suspend an account doing any of that, and we will tell you why.
Cancelling and deleting are different things, deliberately. Cancelling ends the payments and leaves your journal readable — you simply stop adding new trades once the period ends. Deleting your account removes everything, immediately and permanently, and only you can start it. We will never delete your journal because you stopped paying.
Some emails are part of the service and you cannot opt out of them while you have an account: password resets, receipts, and notice of a change to these terms or the price. Marketing email — product news, tips, offers — is separate, optional, off unless you tick the box, and you can turn it off in your account settings or from any such email. Signing up never requires it.
We work to keep Preflight up and your data safe, and it is backed up nightly. We cannot promise it will never be down or that nothing will ever go wrong, so the service is provided "as is", without warranties. Export your journal to CSV whenever you like — it is one click, and it is yours.
To the extent the law allows, Preflight is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as they are permitted.
You can leave at any time. We may close an account that breaches section 5, or stop offering the service entirely — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and time to export everything first.
If we change them in a way that affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect. The version number at the top changes with them, and your account records which version you agreed to.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
